Kevin Kilbane learns how to be a referee

BBC football pundit Kevin Kilbane joins former Premier League referee David Elleray to find out what it takes to be a top official.

During the Football Association and Referees' Association masterclass, former footballer Kilbane finds life with a whistle is a lot harder, especially when he tries to split up a fight between Elleray, the chairman of the FA's referee committee, and current Premier League referee Martin Atkinson.

You can see more of Kilbane, who played more than 600 games in a 17-year career, at the referee masterclass in the first Football Focus of the new season, at 12:00 BST on Saturday on BBC One and the BBC Sport website.
