Everton manager Roberto Martinez pleased with new signings
Everton manager Roberto Martinez says he is very pleased with the players he signed and the established players he held on to during the transfer window.
The new Toffees boss says on-loan striker Romelu Lukaku will bring competition and "something different" to the squad, while midfielder Gareth Barry will add "composure and knowhow".
Martinez says midfielder Marouane Fellaini joined Manchester United with "our blessing", but he has no intention of allowing left-back Leighton Baines to follow him out of the club, saying Everton would show him the "warmth" and "appreciation" he deserves.
