Steven Gerrard, Andros Townsend, Daniel Sturridge and Michael Carrick on reaching World Cup

Captain Steven Gerrard says the pressure on England's players to qualify for the 2014 World Cup was "difficult to put into words", but feels "elation" to have sealed a place in Brazil.

England beat Poland 2-0 at Wembley thanks to goals from Wayne Rooney and Gerrard, qualifying as winners of Group H ahead of Ukraine.

Tottenham winger Andros Townsend, who shone against both Poland and Montenegro last week, said qualification capped an "unbelievable" few days, while Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge said reaching the World Cup was "a dream come true".
