2014 Fifa World Cup: Roy Hodgson has mixed feelings on Manaus

England boss Roy Hodgson says the Amazonian city of Manaus is "not an ideal place to play football" but he will embrace the challenge at the 2014 Fifa World Cup.

Hodgson's side, who are based in Rio de Janeiro for the duration of the tournament, begin their campaign against Italy in Manaus on 14 June, then play Uruguay in Sao Paulo on 19 June and Costa Rica in Belo Horizonte on 24 June.

The England manager also said the decision to bring the kick-off time of their opener forward to 23:00 BST would attract more television viewers back home.
