David Coleman was a terrific human being - John Motson

Match of the Day commentator John Motson praises former BBC sports broadcaster David Coleman, who died on Saturday aged 87 after a short illness.

The BBC Sport commentator recalls his favourite memories of Coleman and explains how the legendary broadcaster helped him get his big break in television.

"He was a very friendly man - beneath the demanding side of him, he was a terrific human being," says Motson.

Coleman first appeared on air for the BBC in 1954, covering 11 Olympic Games, six football World Cups and presented Grandstand, Sportsnight plus Question of Sport.
