Everton's Roberto Martinez 'close' to new signing

Everton boss Roberto Martinez says he is "close" to signing a new player in the January transfer window.

Martinez, who is rumoured to be interested in Spartak Moscow winger Aiden McGeady,, external says he will not "rush" a deal and is only going to sign a player that fits into the current "feeling" at the club.

Everton's Ross Barkley and Leighton Baines have been linked with a move to Manchester United, but Martinez says the club will not lose any of the "top performers".
