New Baines deal a boost for Everton - Roberto Martinez

Everton boss Roberto Martinez describes Leighton Baines signing a new four-year deal at Goodison Park as a "phenomenal boost" for the club.

Martinez hailed Baines as "one of the best left-backs in European football" and said securing the 29-year-old's long-term future shows the Toffees' intent to progress.

Since joining Everton in 2007, Leighton Baines has provided 33 assists in the Premier League - 14 more than any other defender.
