Will Roy Hodgson pick England's current in-form players?

MOTD3 pundits John Hartson and Alan Shearer discuss the attacking options available to Roy Hodgson for World Cup selection.

The weekend's Premier League fixtures featured a number of high-profile performances by English players, from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's two goals for Arsenal, to Adam Johnson's continued goal prowess for Sunderland and Andy Carroll's eye-catching return for West Ham.

Former Wales international Hartson says players should be chosen "on merit", but argues that experienced members of the squad, such as Frank Lampard, still bring a lot to the team despite not playing every game for their domestic clubs.
