Manchester United 4-1 Aston Villa: Scoreline harsh says Lambert

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert says his side's 4-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford was closer than the scoreline suggests.

The visitors took the lead through Ashley Westwood's free-kick, but United turned the game around with two goals from Wayne Rooney before half time. Goals from Juan Mata - his first for the club - and Javier Hernandez added the gloss in the second half.

Despite the defeat Villa remain nine points above the relegation zone, with seven games left to play.
