Jermain Defoe positive over England World Cup chances

Former Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe says he does not feel the need to "sell" himself to England manager Roy Hodgson, and is positive about his chances of going to the World Cup in Brazil.

After leaving White Hart Lane, Defoe made his MLS debut for Toronto FC in March and scored three goals in his first two games before picking up a hamstring strain.

Defoe was included in Hodgson's squad for England's 1-0 friendly win over Denmark on 5 March, and has scored 19 goals for his country from 55 caps.
