BBC Sport looks back at five of the best long-range screamers ever scored at the World Cup.

Torsten Frings's strike for hosts Germany in the opening game of the 2006 World Cup features, as does Nelinho's outrageous curler for Brazil in 1978 and Giovanni van Bronckhorst's stunner for the Netherlands in the 2010 semi-final.
