World Cup 2014: Brazil v Croatia referee was 'embarrassing'

Croatia's Vedran Corluka says the performance of referee Yuichi Nishimura in their 3-1 defeat to Brazil was "embarrassing".

The Japanese official caused consternation in the Croatian team after ruling that Dejan Lovren had pulled down striker Fred with 20 minutes remaining, with Neymar converting the resulting penalty to hand the advantage to the hosts.

The Lokomotiv Moscow defender's opinion was backed up by his coach, Niko Kovac, who told journalists after the game: "If you continue like this, you will have 100 penalties during the World Cup....the referee was completely out of his depth".
