World Cup 2014: Gary Lineker - England's future is bright

Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker says he is "quietly confident" England can beat Uruguay on Thursday despite opening their World Cup campaign with a 2-1 defeat by Italy.

The former England striker is enthusiastic at the way Roy Hodgson's team played and is encouraged by their passing accuracy.

Lineker says that whatever happens in the tournament, the "future is considerably brighter than it was a few months ago".
