World Cup 2014: Why Brazil changed from white to yellow

BBC Sport looks back on the history of the Brazil national team shirt, and why they changed their shirt colour from white to the now-distinctive yellow.

Brazil wore white shirts the last time the World Cup was held in their country in 1950, but after Uruguay beat them in the final match to lift the Jules Rimet trophy the colour white "was washed away from their memories" and they adopted the iconic yellow shirts.
