Aberystwyth well beaten by dominant Derry City

Derry City appear to have booked their passage into the second qualifying round of the Europa League after a 4-0 first-leg win over Welsh club Aberystwyth Town.

The League of Ireland side were already 1-0 through Patrick McEleney when Aberystwyth keeper Mike Lewis was sent-off for tripping Rory Patterson.

Striker Patterson netted the resulting penalty and City added further goals in the second half from Mark Timlin and Barry McNamee.
