A first-half header from Mats Hummels gives Germany a 1-0 win over France in their 2014 World Cup quarter-final and books their place in the last four.

The Borussia Dortmund defender flicked home following a 12th-minute free-kick, and France were unable to find an equaliser despite creating several chances.

Germany, who reached a record fourth consecutive World Cup semi-final, will face either hosts Brazil or Colombia in their semi-final on Tuesday.
