Wayne Rooney excited by England youngsters

New skipper Wayne Rooney insists it is an exciting time for England despite their disappointing performance at the 2014 World Cup.

England are entering a new era following the international retirements of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard but Rooney believes the young players in Roy Hodgson's squad will help the side improve.

The striker will lead the Three Lions as full-time captain for the first time in Wednesday's friendly against Norway at Wembley.
