Port Vale: Remie Streete keen to make loan impact in Potteries

Port Vale loan signing Remie Streete is hoping to spend the rest of the year in the Potteries after moving from Premier League side Newcastle for an initial month.

After arriving from St James' Park last week, 19-year-old Streete was left on the bench on Saturday as caretaker manager Rob Page's improving side beat Yeovil Town 4-1 at Vale Park - but he admits that he still has time very much on his side.

"I have a few weeks to settle in," he told BBC Radio Stoke. "I am initially only here for a month but it takes a few weeks to get to know the lads and get in the swing. Then, ideally, I will stay at least until January and see where it goes from there.

"I'm still young. It's a great experience to come here and settle into a new team. If you win a game 4-1 then no one is going to complain that I didn't play a part. I just have to keep going in training and get a chance to show people what I can do."
