Tom Pope: Port Vale striker's offer from Bury too good to turn down

Departing Port Vale striker Tom Pope says that the offer made to him by League One new boys Bury was simply too much money to turn down.

The 29-year-old striker, whose current Vale contract was about to expire, was made a new offer by his home town club, but only at a reduced rate.

"The contract offers I'd had from several other clubs were far greater," he told BBC Radio Stoke. "As hard it was for me, it was too much for me to turn down."
