Liverpool must adapt to Benteke's style of play - Barnes

Former Liverpool player John Barnes is "optimistic" about the Reds this season, but says they must "adapt" their style of play.

Barnes believes the signing of Christian Benteke for £32.5m from Aston Villa means the side must become stronger and more physical to suit the 24-year-old Belgian.

He hopes the team will be able to achieve more consistent results as the season goes on, saying you always get "funny results" in the first few games.
