Brendan Rodgers: Alan Shearer & Ian Wright on ex-Liverpool boss

Match of the Day 2 pundit Alan Shearer says sacked Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was "a dead man walking" after the dismissal of his coaching assistants during the summer.

Fellow guest Ian Wright does not believe Rodgers was hard done by and Shearer says that the manager's recruitments "haven't helped Brendan a lot".

Rodgers was dismissed by Liverpool on Sunday just hours after a 1-1 draw in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park, bringing to an end a three and a half year spell at the club.
