Steve McClaren has been sacked as head coach by Newcastle United.

The club's recent defeat by Bournemouth, which McClaren described as "going down material", marked Newcastle's eighth loss in the past 11 matches.

With only 10 games remaining, their tally of 24 points is the Magpies' lowest at this stage of a Premier League season.
