Euro 2016: Roy Keane angry with Republic of Ireland attitude in defeat by Belarus

Republic of Ireland assistant boss Roy Keane says the commitment of the team in Tuesday's Euro 2016 warm-up defeat by Belarus left a lot to be desired.

"I wanted to kill a few of them last night so I've moved on from that," Keane told a news conference on Wednesday as he was asked about the Republic's 2-1 defeat in Cork.

"It's international football. Control the ball, pass it and move it to your mates. And if you lose it, run back. And run back like you care."

While Harry Arter has been ruled out of the tournament and James McCarthy and Robbie Keane are also both troubled by injury, the Republic assistant said he would be "worried when players aren't carrying knocks".

"You supposed to carrying knocks because you are supposed to tackle people. Hit people at pace. And hit them hard," he said,

"It's a man's game we're playing, believe it or not."
