Online poll results: Homophobia in sport
More than four fifths of sports fans say they would be comfortable with their club signing a gay player, according to a survey carried out for BBC Radio 5 live.
An online survey of more than 4,000 people across England, Wales and Scotland conducted by research company ComRes found 82% of supporters say they would not have a problem with an openly gay player at their club.
However, 7% said they would not watch their team if they fielded a gay player.
