European Grand Prix: Highlights from first practice in Valencia

Pastor Maldonado signals a return to form for Williams after setting the fastest time in free practice one, ahead of the European Grand Prix in Valencia.

The Venezuelan, who finished the session ahead of Sebastian Vettel's Red Bull, has failed to score any points since taking his maiden Formula 1 win in Barcelona, but topped the timings with a lap of 1:40.890.

It was very close though, with the top nine covered by just 0.292 seconds at the Valencia street track.

Reigning world champion Vettel has won the race for the last two years.
