World champion Sebastian Vettel says it was a "tricky day" after his Red Bull broke down during the final qualifying session for the Spanish Grand Prix.
The German failed to set a time in Q3 after his car lost drive coming out of the pits at the start of the session, meaning he would have started the race in 10th position.
However he subsequently received a five-place grid penalty due to a gearbox change, pushing him down the grid to 15th.
Team-mate Daniel Ricciardo secured third place on the grid as Mercedes continued to dominate, with Lewis Hamilton beating Nico Rosberg to pole.
