Lewis Hamilton earns Monaco GP pole position

Watch Lewis Hamilton earn a stylish first pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix, beating Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg by 0.342 seconds.

Pole position is of paramount importance in Monaco due to the difficulty of overtaking, and nine of the past 10 races at the famous circuit have been won from pole position.

Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel qualified third ahead of Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo.
