McKenna Cup: Cavan to follow Tyrone blueprint - McGleenan

New Cavan manager Mattie McGleenan says he intends to follow the example of Tyrone boss Mickey Harte by taking the season-opening McKenna Cup seriously.

The counties will meet at Breffni Park in their Section C opener on Sunday as the Red Hands go for a sixth consecutive success in the competition.

McGleenan believes his successor Terry Hyland has left him "in a very positive situation" and is impressed by the attitude of his squad despite the absence of some key players in Eugene Keating, Fergal Flanagan, Martin Dunne and David Givney.
