Goalscoring hero Johnston, 18, hails Cargin veterans

Teenage goalscoring hero Conhuir Johnston lauds the contributions of Cargin's veteran players as the holders dash Dunloy's hopes in the Antrim Football Final.

"Some of those guys out there have been playing senior football for longer than I've been alive," said Johnston, who hit a goal in either half as the Toome outfit clinched their seventh title in nine years by winning 2-10 to 0-11 at Corrigan Park.

Thirty-eight-year-old Michael McCann was among Cargin's most influential players despite only introduced shortly after half-time as he went on to orchestrate proceedings during the closing 30 minutes of action.
