'Neil pulled us out again' - Young Dall star lauds McManus brilliance
Cushendall youngster Joseph McLaughlin may have scored two goals in the Ulster Club SHC win over Portaferry but it needed a dramatic Neil McManus goal to force extra-time.
"It was a tough battle but Neil pulled us out again," said schoolboy McLaughlin.
Veteran McManus said the Antrim champions were "lucky to get the opportunity" to bring the game to extra-time as his 21-metre free flew into the net after Portaferry had led by four points at the start of injury-time.
"Portaferry are a top-class side. We were under no illusions that it was going to go down to the wire and then it goes to extra-time," said the 35-year-old after his side took control in extra-time to win 4-28 to 3-19 which set up a final against Slaughtneil in two weeks.
