Bergin 'relieved' as O'Loughlin Gaels battle past Cushendall

O'Loughlin Gaels captain Mark Bergin says he is "absolutely relieved" after his side's 1-17 to 1-16 victory over Cushendall in the All-Ireland Club Hurling semi-final at Navan.

Cushendall led by eight points early on and free-taker Bergin, who hit 0-9 for his side, said that the Kilkenny men "weren't shocked" by the Ulster champions' performance.

"They hit us with absolutely everything in the first 10 minutes and that’s credit to them. They are a proud, proud club and we have nothing but the utmost respect for them," said Bergin.

Neil McManus congratulated the O'Loughlin Gaels skipper after the final whistle and Bergin described the Cushendalll captain as a "superb hurler and great ambassador and role model for the GAA in Ulster".
