World Gymnastics 2011: Smith hopes to perfect pommel routine for 2012
Britain's Louis Smith says he had to take the opportunity to showcase a difficult pommel routine after winning bronze in the apparatus finals at the World Gymnastics Championships , externalin Tokyo.
The 22-year-old went for broke with a potentially high-scoring routine but a shaky dismount meant he finished behind winner Krisztian Berki of Hungary and France's Cyril Tommasone in second.
Smith says he treated the Championships as a "dress rehearsal" for the London Olympics, and hopes he can perfect the routine for the 2012 Games.
