Aaron Aby: Flyweight to fight for Oktagon world title, backed by Wrexham footballer Ollie Palmer

Welsh flyweight Aaron Aby will fight for the Oktagon world title on Saturday, 4 November when he takes on Elias Garcia in Manchester - with the backing of Wrexham football striker Ollie Palmer.

It is the first time the promotion has held a card in the UK, with the Wrexham native top of the bill.

Aby was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis when he was just two weeks old, an inherited disorder of cell membranes that mainly affects the lungs and digestive system.

In 2019, he was given the all-clear from stage three testicular cancer and returned to mixed martial arts just eight months later.

Aby - who played football for Wales at age-grade level - caught the eye of Wrexham striker Ollie Palmer, who befriended him after signing for the club.
