MotoGP: Lorenzo pips Pedrosa to pole position at Jerez

Spain's Jorge Lorenzo takes pole position for his home race at Jerez, edging out compatriot Dani Pedrosa.

The Yamaha rider pipped Pedrosa's Honda by 0.135 seconds after a session dominated by mixed weather conditions, with Ducati's Nicky Hayden starting third ahead of Britain's Cal Crutchlow.
