MotoGP: Marc Marquez claims pole at German GP

Marc Marquez grabs pole position for Sunday's German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring, as team-mate Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo miss out on qualifying.

Reigning champion Lorenzo withdrew from the German GP after crashing heavily in practice, while championship leader Pedrosa skipped qualifying after coming off his bike in the final practice session on Saturday morning.

It left Marquez to claim his third pole of the season, ahead of Britain's Cal Crutchlow and Yamaha's Valentino Rossi, who won last time out in Assen.
