O'Kane delighted by Derry promotion

Derry defender Gerard O'Kane is pleased as his team defeat previously unbeaten Westmeath to guarantee promotion and set up a Division 2 decider against the same opposition.

"Westmeath obviously made a few changes but we set out our stall to win this game to ensure that we finished top of Division 2," said O'Kane.

James Kielt scored both Derry's goals from penalties as the Oak Leafers earned a facile 2-17 to 1-5 win over the under-strength opposition.
