Retired heptathlete Kelly Sotherton proud of 'great career'
Kelly Sotherton picks out her 2004 Olympic and 2007 World Championships Bronze medals as career highlights after retiring from athletics due to a prolapsed back injury.
Sotherton explains she "could hardly walk" after the "horrendously painful" injury at the IAAF Combined Events Challenge in Italy earlier this month when she broke down in the 200m before undergoing surgery than means she will miss the selection deadline for the Olympics.
The 2006 Commonwealth champion says she is "proud" of her "great career" and reveals plans to run the London Marathon in 2013, as well as trying her hand at other sports including triathlon, skiing and netball - but does not plan to coach athletics.
