London 2012: Van Commenee in dark over Idowu's fitness

Head Coach of UK athletics Charles van Commenee says he "doesn't know" if Phillips Idowu is fit enough to participate at the London games.

Van Commenee says he is "frustrated" with the breakdown of communication with Idowu, who failed to travel with the rest of the team to their training camp in Portugal.

The Dutchman believes that the Great Britain team can still reach his target of eight medals without the former world champion.
