Olympics: Lord Coe and Jacques Rogge welcome world to London
A proud Lord Coe and International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge welcome the world to the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
Lord Coe said he had "never felt more proud to be British" and added: "One day we will tell our children and our grandchildren that when the time came, we did it right".
And Rogge told the world that London was unique in having now staged three Olympic Games, delighting the home crowd by telling them that "in many ways the Olympic Games are coming home tonight".
