Defending champion Victoria Pendleton eases into the women's sprint semi-finals after beating Belarusian Olga Panarina at the velodrome.

Pendleton, who has already won gold in London, set a new Olympic record of 10.724 seconds for a flying lap in qualifying for the sprint on Monday.
