Olympics football: Japan beat France to book a place in the final

Japanese women's football team beat France 2-1 in a thrilling semi-final clash at Wembley, securing them a place in the final.

Japan went into the break with a one goal advantage after Yuki Ogimi opened up the scoring, capitalising on a mistake by the French goalkeeper Sarah Bouhaddi.

The second-half saw more chances for both sides, with Mizuho Sakaguchi doubling the lead for Japan, but France replied with a goal from substitute Eugenie le Sommer.

Despite constant pressure from the French, it wasn't enough to get them a second goal, putting Japan through to the final on Thursday.
