Olympics hockey: Netherlands win hockey shoot-out

Defending champions Netherlands reach the Olympic women's hockey final after beating New Zealand 3-1 in the first penalty shoot-out in Olympic history.

A pulsating match finished 2-2 after extra-time as Netherlands twice came from behind courtesy of two well-taken penalty corner goals from Dutch skipper Maartje Paumen.

Rather than penalty strokes, a penalty shoot-out involves a player having eight seconds from the 16-yard line to beat the keeper. Different players chose different tactics but in the end Ellen Hoog smashed home the decisive strike.
