Sam Tomkins injury a big blow for England - Steve McNamara

England head coach Steve McNamara says that losing full-back Sam Tomkins to injury is a "big blow".

The 26-year-old, who will rejoin Wigan Warriors from New Zealand Warriors for the 2016 season, will miss the entire three-Test series against New Zealand after failing to recover from a knee injury that has kept him out of the game since August.

Leeds full-back Zak Hardaker, who won the 2015 Man of Steel award after a superb season for the Rhinos, is now likely to keep the number one shirt for the first Test against the Kiwis at Hull's KC Stadium on Sunday.
