Declan Kidney explains Ireland team selection for Scotland game

Ireland coach Declan Kidney does not believe he is taking a risk by selecting uncapped Ulster out-half Paddy Jackson to start ahead of Ronan O'Gara in Sunday's Six Nations match against Scotland.

O'Gara was expected to replace the injured Jonathan Sexton in the first XV at Murrayfield but has been edged out by the 21-year-old Ulsterman.

Kidney said his decision to start with Jackson and fellow Ulster rookie Luke Marshall in the key decision-making positions of 10 and 12 was an opportunity, not a gamble.
