British sailor Ben Ainslie's fourth Olympic gold at London 2012 earned him legendary status in the sport, and brought him the ISAF World Sailor of the Year Award for a record fourth time.

To celebrate his achievements the BBC Sports Personality of the Year team reunited the sailor with his Olympic Finn dinghy, Rita, on the Thames in London.

But the filming was far from straightforward as BBC Sport discovered when they went behind the scenes at the shoot.
