Elena Baltacha wants British number one spot back
Former British number one Elena Baltacha says she is targeting a return to the top spot when she comes back from a foot injury.
The 29-year-old has not played competitively since the London Olympics and current British number one Heather Watson has broken into the world's top 40 in her absence, with Laura Robson ranked 43.
Baltacha, who said last summer she might quit tennis, is planning a return to action in April, in time for Great Britain's Fed Cup World Group II play-off against Argentina, where if selected she would feature alongside 20-year-old Watson and 19-year-old Robson.
