The 33-year-old Finn stunned Djokovic by breaking serve in the opening game, but the two-time Wimbledon champion soon found his form and eventually overpowered Nieminen 6-4 6-2 6-3.

Djokovic, 28, will now play Australian Bernard Tomic in round three on Friday.
