Davis Cup final: James Ward eyes end of Great Britain's 'long road'

British number four James Ward tells BBC London this weekend's Davis Cup final against Belgium is the culmination of "a long road" for Great Britain.

The 28-year-old is yet to find out whether he will be selected as the second singles player in Ghent, with captain Leon Smith considering whether to pick the Londoner or Kyle Edmund.

Ward, the world number 156, featured in the victories against the USA and France earlier this year, but missed the semi-final win over Australia.

Ward was part of the team that avoided relegation to the lowest tier of the competition in 2010, external and is keen to feature as Britain aim to win their first Davis Cup title since 1936.

The Davis Cup final takes place on clay from 27-29 November and is live across the BBC.
