‘Mr Cricket’ Gareth Lanagan wins WSA Volunteer of the Year award

College maths teacher Gareth Lanagan has been named as Volunteer of the Year for the Wales Sport Awards 2018.

Gareth, from Aberystwyth, is head coach, first team captain and chairman of Dolgellau Cricket Club and has been key in developing a family-friendly club.

He started up a female cricket team last year and has developed the future of the Gwynedd club, with a thriving junior side.
