Jersey's Elizabeth Cann has failed to make the main draw of the All England Badminton Championships.
The world number 55 and English national champion lost 21-11 21-10 to Maria Febe Kusumastuti of Indonesia.
She had beaten Italy's Agnese Allegrini 17-21 21-14 21-17 in her opening match of the qualifiers.
"It was a tough game early on and only a couple of hours in between so I didn't have the same speed, so that's what let me down," said Cann.
"You need at least one match in the morning and one in the evening."
Cann progressed one round further than Susan Egelstaff, her main rival for a spot at the London Olympics.
Egelstaff lost 21-17, 21-8 to Kusumastuti in the first round of qualifying.
"It's very close between myself and Susan so you've just got to take one tournament at a time and push on and get some points," added Cann.
